I didn't like this book I have decided. It wasn't that interesting and not a lot happened. No great musings about the world. His style of prose and lack of punctuation made it hard to follow what was going on. I didn't care about the characters or what happened to them. This one is honestly lost on me. Think it was a bit dated with its porterals of gender and race.

While I understand what the novel was going for, the whole metaphor for South Africa's recent history, it didn't speak to me on an emotional level quite the way it seems to have done for others.

The characters didn't have enough space to be fleshed out, and while they could have been compelling, things seemed without rhyme or reason half the time.

I found the home to be a pretty compelling image, the road from so much potential to all of it being wasted and the black population continuously being sidelined, until it's too little, too late.

That being said, I felt disappointed by the result, the novel as I saw it lacked the depth I expected.
