A cute and fast-paced novel about a vampire gentleman falling for a broke artist after a century long coma.

This was a super fun, lighthearted romance. It was just the thing I needed to get me out of a reading slump! The characters are super lovable, the romance is super wholesome and it'll definitely have you smiling like an idiot. Frederick is hilarious! The only problem is I wish it was longer just so I could see more xD. I'm not ready to say goodbye šŸ˜ Low stakes, fun read with a couple little twists and a spicy scene for good measure! 4.75 stars because it delivered exactly what I thought it would and everything wrapped up perfectly. .25 stars deducted because Cassie mentions how hot Frederick is a few too many times lol.

I was nervous going into this because vampire romance books have been letting me down lately. FORTUNATELY this was actually really enjoyable.

While the characters were extremely stupid at times and really tried my patience, I felt like it was made up for in how funny I found the book. A lot of the trying to patience was from a joke going on too long, but it didnā€™t ruin my enjoyment of the earlier parts of the joke.

Also the romance was really cute! It was nice watching these two fall for each other and their dedication to each other. I also liked that when they were thirsting after each other it didnā€™t feel out of place or like it was happening at weird times. And honestly the spice was actually alright, Iā€™ve listened to so much bad spice this was a nice little treat.

Overall, it was a cute, simple read! Iā€™m looking forward to the sequel!

ā€œDo not think for one moment that you are replaceable, Cassie Greenberg. For you are anything but.ā€

I didn't have that high expectation of this book so when I actually did start reading it, it amazed me how much it made me smile and laugh even in public. It's a really silly rom-com between a vampire and a human and I think that the author really did have a blast writing this. What really made me drop the rating is the last quarter of the book where it really just felt silly and ironically, something that would never happen. So yeah, even if I did enjoy more than half of the book, it really was down to how it ended. The third act conflict really was just a disappointment and I wished that the author has made it more serious compared to how it was written.

However, I would love a Frederick as a roommate. The dialogues was amazingly witty. Plus points for the little sneak peek of Frederick's POV at every start of the chapter.

I sadly had to DNF this book involuntarily. The source I was using to read it online stopped working, so I can't finish it since I've been unable to find this book anywhere without buying it. But since I was about 80% through, I can give a review for most of the book.

I enjoyed the way the chapters were structured. Having a note or news article that set the scene was fun to read. I thought the vampire man was a very funny character, and I thought the reason for having him seem so old-fashioned was quite unique and clever.

Overall it was nice, though I stopped right when it was getting juicy in the drama department, shame.

I canā€™t say that I enjoyed this book but at the same time, I canā€™t say that I hated it.
It took me a lot longer to finish than I had thought, but thatā€™s mainly because I found it hard to get into.

I enjoyed the concept of the book. However, I felt that it fell short in its execution.

I could partially relate to the FMC but not enough that I felt invested in knowing more about her or her hobbies ETC. She had a bad habit of repeating herself or actions. ā€œHeā€™s so cold to the touch,ā€ ā€œheā€™s so attractive,ā€ ā€œplaced my hand where his heartbeat wouldā€™ve been.ā€ Yes, we get itā€¦
The MMC was more tolerable, but I feel that is basically because the book is written completely in our FMCā€™s POV.

I did not enjoy the ending, or the last few pages leading up to it.
I feel the author wrote herself into a situation she wasnā€™t sure how to get herself out of, and it just felt flat. Although the story ties off almost all the aspects of the story, it always just feels like they didnā€™t all intertwine well with each other, but that may also have been because of my inability to become in invested in the story.

For those who want to know which piece I felt was not tied off please see below:
So, as we reach the conclusion of the book we donā€™t really ever get the answer of if she turned or not. It is basically left at ā€œIā€™ll think about it.ā€

Overall, not the best but not the worst.
Based off of the writing and storytelling I donā€™t think Iā€™ll be picking up this author again.

This book fell flat for me. Cassie was a typical messy main character who is trying to get it together and even though in the end she lands a great job, she does not grow as a character at all. All other characters, including the vampire love interest, are completely one dimensional. Within romance books, I don't have a strong preference for single or dual POV, but I think having chapters from Frederick's perspective could only have helped in this case.

The book also could have used some editing. In particular I found the timeline confusing at best and even contradictory a few times.
