I read this book in 9th grade for school and recently reread it because a) I had just seen the movie and it sparked my interest again and b) it's one of my friend's favorite books and he had it on hand. Despite really enjoying the novel, as with the first time I read it, it disturbed me. The excessive violence, cruel mind games, and depression of the main character seeped through the pages and into my personal life.

The real winner of this book was the plot. Both the main one focusing on Ender, and the side one following his brother and sister, were what kept me reading. Also, crazily enough, Card basically predicted worldwide internet forums (I mean this book was written 1985, years before the world wide web was even proposed) and modern tablets.

I've been warned the other books in this series are super weird but eh I think I'll give them a try anyway.

One of the only books I really wanted to see become a movie! So-so on the movie, but glad I got to see it in my lifetime!

Lowkey I was doing the same shit at 6.
