Interesting read

I read this once before, many years ago, but I just finished reading it to my kids. Because I was reading it to them, I was able to skip all the bad words. There aren't a whole lot of curse words, but there were many body-related insults and inappropriate comments. I was happy to be able to pass over those.

Both this time and last time, I was disturbed by the violence, particularly since it involves kids. This time, however, I better understood the remorse at the ending, the fact that it all turned out to be a huge misunderstanding. I appreciated Ender's ability to sympathize with his enemies. It's a remarkable gift, one I wish we could all cultivate.

Fantastic! This book was amazing, incredible, great, awesome (and other synonyms)! The plot, the characters, the writing, are all beyond words and I was thoroughly impressed with Orson Scott Card. I will be reading the sequel, which also won the Nebula and Hugo Awards, and all of Cards other books just because this book was that GREAT! If you are even just slightly considering reading this book, then drop everything, RIGHT NOW, and go buy/read this book! (Sorry I didn't mean to yell at you, I am just really excited about this book!) Be prepared to not be able to put this book down...I read it in one day - yes it was that good! Have I mentioned that I really liked this book? :)

I know there's not a lot to be said about this book that hasn't already been said by so many people, but honestly this has got to be one of the best books I have ever read in my entire life. Orson Scott Card's writing is both easy to digest and yet beautiful all at the same time. He has such a way with words and making you have empathy for all of his characters. The book was well paced and I was interested to whole time. I literally couldn't put it down. A book I will hold near and dear to my heart for the rest of my life.
