It was written by an old conservative white man and reads like it. It's like a really bad shoujo book but with explicit sexist/racist/etc stereotypes absolutely riddled. I think I made it 20 minutes into the audiobook before I had to turn it off.

I’ve had this book on my shelf for YEARS and finally got around to starting the series. I’m so glad I did – this first book focuses on a bunch of elite kids/teens that are essentially being turned into child soldiers to fight the infamous “buggers” (an alien species that is supposedly attacking Earth but there’s not really any evidence of this). Ender is placed right in the middle of the action and becomes the perfect protagonist while making a bunch of tough choices.

Ok, so I personally liked the book better than the movie, to say it in that way, 'cause really, I didn't like them much.. I don't know if is it because I don't like space-books of maybe something else? I just didn't seem to like it that much, I've heard a lot of good things about this Saga but I didn't like it .. (Now I have trust issues with the person who recommended this book to me) LOL Just kidding.
