This was my second go round with this book. I originally picked it up and put it aside after 50 pages. I decided to give it a more thorough chance. I liked it. I admit to having problems with Jude and Cardan's relationship. I'm not used to reading a love story where the lovers hate each other. It will be interesting to watch their relationship unfold in the rest of this trilogy. Overall, I am glad I gave the book a second chance.

Sometimes you just need a twisty, fun YA book... and The Cruel Prince didn't disappoint!

I had hoped for much better. The start showed some promises but the book quickly turned very generic, becoming a collection of tropes, and not the good ones.... Clichés, toxicity, unlikable characters... I kept hoping for a good surprise but it never came

This book would’ve been better if Jude ate Taryn in the womb.
