It was...good. The pacing was a little weird, like they spent too much time in some places and not enough in others. All in all the book was good, and I enjoyed it.

first impressions - this book is awful. it repeats itself a lot and it doesn't go anywhere and it felt like a waste of time.
then, around page 100 it all of a sudden changes and gets significantly better and is actually a really decent read. you just need to persevere. I'm glad after having read The Omen Machine which did feel like a bit of a waste but from reading this book you can see it was more about setting things up. can't wait for the next installment now
