Argh. I didn't love it, but really expected to, which makes it so much harder. So please remember, that my thoughts below is not to point the book out as a bad book, but rather to state, what felt off about it for me.

**SPOILERS WILL APPEAR**
First of all, a lot of the story feels like one we've already read from the first one in the series.
Second of all, I felt - and granted I only read it, I haven't gone into research mode - the timeline was off for a huge part of the story
(six weeks later + eight weeks later is MORE than fifty-six days).
Just saying. This may also be a result of my trying to compare this with the timeline in the first book, which I also felt was slightly chaotic.
Third and last of all (and this is where the spoilers come), I am not entirely convinced the ASL teaching is realistic... I mean, the signs are,
but the fact that someone who learned to sign for his sister, who he hasn't seen since she was four six years ago, still signs fluidly AND can become an ASL teacher. Moreover, to my knowledge, a big part of the deaf community prefers deaf people to do the actual teaching.

Anyway, for some reason those points just grated on me to an extent where I cannot just ignore it 🤷🏼‍♀️

However, it's definitely not a bad read, which is why it still gets three stars. And I love how effortlessly the dynamic evolves.
