Pacing was strange very slow ending! I like that it was a black centered fantasy book! Romance was sketchy and a little weird. Very easy read though.

This is book one of a series of 5 books. Great mermaid paranormal romance, but with an environmental plot on ocean pollution running through the entire series that makes you reflect on current environmental issues. Loved this entire series!

Surprisingly I was obsessed with this book.
The characters are great. I love the lore, I'm happy there finally a kingdom with good and moral royals. The insta attraction almost gave me the ick but then I realized its a hero complex kinda love and I get that.

I picked this up for a reading challenge, with the prompt being aquatic themes. Mermaids aren't really my thing, but I thought I'd give it a try. I didn't get on with the first person present tense and info dumping unfortunately. Just not for me.
