I loved this book. It was an easy read, with enjoyable characters, a good mystery and delightful cats. The 'magical cats' theme was very low key to the point it felt natural the way we feel our pets communicate with us. Can't wait to start the next one.

What a great book. There was quite a bit of depth to this cozy and I didn’t figure it all out until the very end. 4.5 stars

A funny book. A book that have: cats, books, music, tai chi. Just loved it!

It’s another cozy mystery. There’s a brewing romance. The main character knows too much for her own good despite being new to town and everyone loves her. Also her cats are magic. Entertaining despite all the trite-ness

I enjoyed this book, but wasn't really won over. There were a lot of side characters- most of them older females (without much variety in personality, honestly), so it could be hard to follow which person had done what before. I also didn't really feel the sense of urgency for Kathleen to solve the murder that I might in another cozy. Marcus appears to be a qualified detective with all the skills to solve the murder on his own. There doesn't seem to be a reason for Kathleen to withhold what she's learning from him or even think she has to be involved beyond her own curiosity. I think the fact that the crime scene in the library was supposed to create that reasoning for her character- like she had to protect the image of her business or something, but Marcus pretty much admits that they don't think she's involved and they can't be sure the victim was even killed there...it's just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Maybe it had to do with the lack of suspense in the murder. Until the end, it didn't seem like anyone else was being threatened by this killer. I almost expected a sort of small-town cover up in which everyone just agreed to keep quiet and move on because they were only interested in killing the one guy.
