Aside from the fact that the chapter titles didn't really match the content of the chapters, I had no issues with this book. I liked Kathleen, even if I was a little frustrated with her unwillingness to go to a doctor when she was hurt. It was obvious that Will was trying to sabotage the remodel, but the reason surprised me. That he showed up to her house drunk and intending to kill her was also unexpected. I like Everett, but he was a little under developed; I hope he gets more developed as the series progresses. Rebecca is a sweet old lady and the kind of neighbor you hope to have so I was surprised that she was mixed up in the death of the horrible Gregor, even if it was accidental and to save herself she still lured him to the library with the express purpose of confronting him. I was surprised that Violet was the killer. She seemed so kind and unassuming that for her to kill someone was unexpected. That she did it because she felt like she ruined the lives of both Rebecca and Everett who were dating when they were younger was even more unexpected. I really liked this book and will be reading more from this series and this author in general.

I’m not so sure about this one. It sure kept me guessing. I really wouldn’t have guessed how it turned out. So maybe it’s more like a 3.5, or even 3.75. I’m really not sure about the magic cats. There did seem to be some unresolved loose ends. Maybe more will be revealed in the next book. I’ve read worse mystery series, so I’ll probably check out the next one.

As far as mysteries go, this one kept up with the pacing I'd expect. The fantastical element with two magical cats might not be to everyone's taste, but the author at least didn't make it detrimental to the story.

Entertaining; I wish the cats had played a more significant part, but it was pleasent nevertheless.

Loved the setting & the characters, can't wait to read the next ones.

Spoiler
This was a pleasant listen. I think it could have done without the magical cats, the characters and cozy mystery vibe would have been enough without it. Cats are mysterious enough without it being magical.

Curiosity Thrilled the Cat, a cute cozy mystery with an slight magical slant. The sleuth is a big city girl who has taken a job now in a small town library. Kathleen, the sleuth was interesting and intelligent and the cats, Owen and Hercules are great as well. The book dragged a little in the middle, it could have done with being a smidge shorter. The ending did pick up. The mystery and setting were both well done.
lighthearted mysterious medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Loveable characters: Yes

Although the beginning of the book was a bit slow, the end really picked up. I enjoyed the characters and I look forward to reading the rest of the series to see how they develop.

Enjoyable and cute,
