Why don't I see more people absolutely screaming about how good this book it????? IT IS SO GOOD!!! the story concept is so original, and like everything else Samantha Shannon writes, absolutely beautiful.

For the revised 10th anniversary

Just missing that one spark to get it to 5, but first books don't often have that for me without having formed deeper emotional connections to characters and the world. I look forward to reading book 2 when the rest of the revisions are released in May.

Such an interesting mix between fantasy, dystopian and alternate timelines. I love the style of the writing and the way that Paige thinks. There is a lot of learn with the world building but I feel like it was built up in a very understandable way, the glossary was also a big help. The Rephs are such interesting creations and I loved the relationship with Warden. I'm so excited to read the next one!

I think the best thing you can do is buying a book not knowing much.

Because of all those disappointments that occure to me lately, I was sceptical going into this one and also, I had no idea what it is about really. Even though I have read the synopsis, it just confused me and gave me no knowledge at all. I was like, fantasy and clairvoyance. Yeah, nice.

But The Bone Season took me by surprise and I found myself being really immersed in it. Before I have started reading, I came across few opinions that the world in this series is difficult to understand at first. Actually, I don't think so. I didn't feel like it was too difficult and the author explained almost everything pretty clearly.
I wasn't a huge fan of the writing but that still doesn't change my opinion, I just prefer more flowery style and Shannon used more simple way of writing.
What else, I didn't feel any kind of connection wit the main character, Paige, but I don't hate her or sth...there was just nothing interesting about her that would stand out to me.
Overall I enjoyed The Bone Season, I consider it as a good start to a long(sigh) series.
