A great mystery that builds rather well. As a man who is just turning 40 this year, the opening got me hooked. I certainly did not see the twist coming. Though thinking about it, it was there all along. Very well done.

What a roller coaster. Oh my gosh! This was such a good book. So many things happened, but it was easy to follow along. Definitely a series of unfortunate events for the main character, Molly.

I thought All the Dark Places was good thriller-y fun.

It was fun to piece together Molly's (the protagonist) backstory. And to figure out what was eating at all the other characters that orbited around the story. Nobody seemed quite right--but then, who is really? We all have secrets. And these folks had some doozies. That makes for good reading.

The big reveal went a little quick for me, although the premise was a good one. And I definitely didn't figure it out (which is the mark of a well-thought out thriller for me). I thought the characters were well-developed, complicated, and entirely believable. Even the big bad guy made sense (from a character development perspective).

Definitely glad I requested the ARC on this one. It'll make an appearance in Bookish's thriller section when it comes out.

Well this book was a whirlwind of emotions for me. I laughed, I cried, I gasped and the end was tilt shocking for me, something you would never see coming. Molly really resonated with me her story and all the bad things that just seem to keep happening around her. And Rita is such a spitfire. I love her no nonsense attitude about everything. This book will keep you on your toes and have you continually asking “who dun it?”. The ending was absolutely beautiful as well. A bit of a happy ending for an otherwise thrilling and chilling novel.
I won this in a giveaway but I had my eye on it regardless and was so thrilled to win it.

Thank you Netgalley, Terri Parlato and Hera Publishers for the eArc of All the Dark places.

This was my first book by Terri Parlato and I devoured it within na few sittings over a couple of days. The narrative starts with Molly and her friends who are celebrating her Husband, Jay's 40th birthday. The following morning he is found in a pool of blood, throat slit and his office is ransacked.

Detective Rita Meyers takes on the case and starts investigating, only to believe, as the evidence points, to one of their friends. As the investigation deepens, Rita starts connecting the dots and finds out who the killer really is.

This grabbed my attention right from the start. The plot is medium  paced, flowed very well into the twists and turns, It takes you into some dark psychological corners and the pay off was executed well. The character development comes through the investigation as she questions both Molly and Jays friends. Secrets come out and a killer is on the loose.
