I like the concept of all of these books. Adventure and magic mixed with a love of learning, books, being outdoors, and side of history? Yes, please. For adults, though, if you've read one, you've read them all and it does get obnoxiously repetitive.

This particular book taught me that a flute made from mammoth bone will scare away sabertooth tigers, which may come in handy should I ever find myself stuck in the ice age. ;)

My daughter loves them, and fortunately, they are just about on her reading level so now she can read them to herself while we move on to something else together.
