This book hurts a lot.

In the beginning, you kind of just /know/ Satoru's not going to make it. Even before all the more obvious remarks, you can tell. He loves Nana too much to let anything get in the way. It hurts but it deals out the pain so gently, so hopefully. Nana knows - he's a smart cat. He's known for a long time.

So glad it ended that way - that somehow, death is transcended. There's something beyond - and Satoru can be with Nana again. My heart aches. I had to hug my cats after this read.

A sweet little book about the love between a cat and a man, the friendships they form, and the experiences they share. While the book was simple and quick, it contained a lot of emotion for me and was a great book to pick up for both its lighthearted tone and emotional plot. Also, it's rare for a book to make me cry, and not only did this book cause my eyes to water, but quite a few tears fell as well. I definitely cried while reading this book, but I also ended it with a sense of happiness.
