Decent start to the series

I heard a lot of good things about this book and since I’m on a bit of a paranormal binge I knew I had to dive in.

I was hooked from the start but I found my interest waning as the book continued. It’s very Beauty and the Beast, which I have no problem with, but I was hoping for a bit more as the characters began to get to know each other. You know when Belle is exploring the castle? A lot of that but no singing candlesticks. I know getting to know one another takes time but I would have liked to learn more of Death’s story. I did enjoy his POVs, even if they were brief.

I feel like I was very intrigued for a chunk of the book, then struggled and the ending was predictable (of course, since we know the deal) but I feel like I should have felt a bit more. Am I interested enough to read the next book? Definitely. I think there will be more action and we will learn more about the characters and their world. As well, there are multiple love interests and I think we have met two so far. I’m wondering what else is in store so I will be continuing the series.

The story was nice and the way it was written made me really feel for Hazel’s hardships and selflessness. I do feel like we could have explored more in this book. The second half felt somewhat empty where there was so much potential to delve into the lore of the new surroundings and characters.

Kiss of death by Alice is a nice book, I enjoyed reading it but being honest I was hoping for so much more. The book is well written and the FMC it’s just a tiny frustrating because of the way she thinks but I’m hopeful next book grows a little bit more. I love the unconditional love the FMC has for her father but I was hoping it was reciprocated by the father and in this book it’s not shown. I think some of the characters had a lot of potential and it just ended their part in this story in a meh type of way. The MMC has sooo much potential and I think it’s just being there, just at the end kind of the lightbulb went on and the started to realized everything. I’m crossing my fingers for more, so much more in the next book.

Kiss of Death for me was like a real slow burn cozy romance. It's a little dark but the MMC is an absolute gem book boyfriend. Death is a true gentleman. I had a hard time putting this down because I couldn't wait to get to when they realized they were falling in love. Highly recommend if you're looking for a *not at all spicy* cute slow burn about the God of Death with a big plot twist at the end.
