Brief but a very good overview of the MMIW issue, especially for people who haven't been following it. I hadn't heard of this case, and Walter tells it very well, weaving her account of the young women's lives in and out of their family and community histories. We don't get an account of the last few days anyone saw the young women until the very end of the book, and by then the context is laid out in a way that just reading the media reports rarely manages.

I'd certainly rec the book to anyone who wants to know what the major concerns are to date. Read it right now, actually, as we may or may not be getting some movement on this issue with the new government.
