Vi Keeland does this trope very well.  This isn't her first foray into the "falling for the boss" storyline, but she manages to keep each story different and fresh I don't mind that she's done it before.  The Boss Project is no exception.

Forced into hiring a therapist for his trading firm to help with it's corporate culture, Merrick Crawford doesn't want the hassle.  He figures his employees need to grow a thicker skin because his attitude is part of being a trader.  Hiring what he feels is the least competent person, makes him think he's won the game against his board.  But the joke is on Merrick when Evie not only proves to be beyond competent but becomes vital to him.

I really enjoyed Merrick and Evie together.  The snappy, witty dialogue between them from their first meeting was superb. Add the chemistry and you knew these 2 would compliment each other perfectly.  It didn't hurt that Merrick's grandmother was as vital to Evie and she was to Merrick.  She helped both of them see their respective baggage shouldn't define the rest of their lives and to see what was right in front of them.

As always, I get to the end of a Vi Keeland book with a smile on my face and am a bit disappointed that it's over.

I‘m not sure how to start my review off because I loved this books so much! Merrick and Evie‘s story is such a great, emotional office romance which I devoured!

The book did start off slower then I liked but it picked up pace fairly quick and I was sucked into their world.

Obviously Vi Keeland is an amazing writer but I did not expect this many feelings and emotions in The Boss Project. My heart broke for both characters time after time and I rooted for them from the beginning!

Loved Loved Loved this books! 5⭐️

Only downside: Really wanted to see Evie‘s lunch „date“ with her ex and her throwing down facts at him!

Their meet cute was a little awkward. The second time they saw each other was even more so. Well, for her anyways. He's the boss that intimidates everyone. She's the therapist trying to ease the stress everyone in the company is feeling, even if he, the big cheese, doesn't think it's necessary. She's out to prove him wrong and prove her abilities. Of course this is a romance, so things happen between the two of them. Both are a little bit damaged, though she has done a lot better in the healing department than him. His past, the past he thought he was recovered from, is still lingering in the background and a surprise meeting brings it all out in full force. There's not a lot of humor in this book. Some jokes between the characters mostly. There is a heaviness surrounding both of their pasts. Hers remain in the past while his are a little more relevant in the present. There is some sexual content, though really only one or two scenes and they are not drawn out taking over the story in any way. There is some subject matter that may be a trigger for sensitive readers. (Domestic abuse.) There are some sweet moments, and some heart aching moments. It alternates between POVs.

The Boss Project is a quintessential Vi Keeland contemporary romance, which are comfort reads for me.
