Evie and Merrick's story was a slow burn, it does start on a slow pace, but when things get complicated then I got hooked, it was emotional, love the characters, especially grandma Kitty, and it has some humor, definitely a story that you need to be patient but is worth at the end. I hope to see a bit of a different story from Vi Keeland in the future.

3.5 stars. Ok the book started out so great, i loved the boss and employee trope and their banter was great. The conflict to me was lowkey soooo random like i honestly don’t understand why they broke up ober that, 100% the mmc fault

It was cute, I wish we got to see more of their dynamic as a couple hiding their relationship from coworkers. Also I hate that they broke up 70% in, then so easily got back together. Like my girl Evie had to deal with all of that bullshit, and didn’t even make him work for it to get back together. Also the last chapter before the epilogue was pretty abrupt.
