4 Stars. This was a fun witty story that turned very sad and serious. I loved the character dynamics. Merrick has some great lines and is always just on the edge of being cheeky but sweet. The drama at the end almost killed me but it's fine.

If you love Vi Keeland books, you will love this.
What I loved:
1. Merrick’s mouth. I wasn’t ready for it.
2. I’m really here for authors having one of the characters tackling mental health - this time in the corporate world.
3. The meet cute was great. Vi Keeland has some of my favorite meet cutes.
4. The ending was super cute and the everything comes full circle idea.
5. Loved the narration.
What I needed more of:
1. It does follow the standard plot line for a Vi Keeland book, but there is comfort in knowing how it will play out.
2. The grumpy boss wasn’t super grumpy for long
Overall, it was entertaining and sweet, a great fun read.

Perhaps I've read too many Vi Keeland books in too short a time. This book is very formulaic with a break up to make up 2/3rds in. The thing that made me rate this as a 2 rather than 3 star read was the total gloss over the wrap up of the lawsuit with Christian. Why even have this subplot in the book if you weren't going to give it closure?

I enjoyed the story, and the audible was good. My favorite character was the grandmother.
Mi piace sempre la Keelan ma i friends to lovers non li digerisco benissimo purtroppo.
In a way this book reminded me of Ugly Love. BUT not at the same time. And am I the only one who wanted it to start at the wedding and video. I wanted to see that play out.
