this story is definitely sad, but i was confused at the end of the book because i was like, where are the pools of tears? at what moment was i supposed to be crying like everyone else on my fyp? i yearn for stories like that, which take me out of myself and make me feel their pain, but i didn’t with this novel. it seemed obvious that she should leave ryle for atlas after the first incident. if anything, it did help me understand the mindset of a woman experiencing what lily experiences. it didn’t quite bring up those feelings for me but i totally get how others would feel a deep connection to the story.
