Honestly the beginning showed a lot of promise but throughout the novel I kept finding some things to be a little off. Like I wish I was warned about all the FEET. And does everyone just ignore the fact he's 17 or? Im not sure how I feel about this because it was wonderfully written but I'm left borderline grossed out by some of the stuff.

Not my favorite especially from the amount that I’ve heard of people loving this story. It was definitely interesting, beautifully written and I loved the setting but idk it felt kinda weird reading some of the things in the story. Elio and Oliver are both kinda weird

This book gets a lot of bad press for a~ certain~ scene however, I truly believe this is a masterpiece of writing. Despite its length, it continues to enrapture my heart each time i re-read it. I will sob, I will cringe, I will swoon, I will smile, and I will love Call Me By Your Name.

DNF because literally nothing of interest happens in this book. It’s just pages and pages of tediously described flirting and lusting over someone. I know loads of people love this novel, but that is just not for me at all. I’m against romance books at the best of time, but especially when they don’t have anything interesting going for them. Maybe I’ll try the film one day instead.

Also the 17 year old entangled with the grown man? Grim. I know that it is explored in the book that the relationship is questionable, but the amount of people who idolise this relationship is very weird.

It is nice to see gay fiction that isn’t afraid to really explore sex and intimacy, but I would have enjoyed that aspect a lot more if the book wasn’t so incredibly boring.
