The ending of this book is one of my favourites. My first exposure to this story was through the film. I have to admit that the ending of the film felt off to me because it did not feel like the perfect ending to the film; there was this curiosity about what was going to happen next. It can't just stop like that. I'm glad I decided to buy and read the book because I was correct. There was more to that in the film, and I am satisfied with the book's ending. It is heartbreaking yet beautiful in its own way.

One thing that surprised me was how explicit the wording is, in contrast to most LGBTQ books I've read (not to complain lol). It does, however, help to understand the emotions of the character Elio, which is why I adore this book. Being able to relate to him because of similar past experiences helped me better understand the character and put myself in his shoes. Not being able to be with someone you develop feeling with is the worst thing ever.

Overall, this book is beautifully written and worth reading. The dialogue, the descriptions, and many others make the book stands out. Go read it!
