I enjoyed their story overall. It was nice to see a couple fight it out rather than just forgetting. I won't be continuing the series cause I feel like it would spoil their story.

At Any Price
Gaming the System, Book 1
By: Brenna Aubrey
Narrated by: Kirsten Leigh

I love a book that has a romance and a fresh story that will intrigue me. Brenna Aubrey's first book in her Gaming the System series is just that! Mia is in need of money. She has responsibilities at home and a college education to pay for. What better way than to auction off her virginity? Adam wins the bid for a hefty amount, but when it comes down to getting the deed done, things are not progressing as quickly as expected. With humor, caring and a budding romance, these two dance around each other until they can't any longer. It's got a slow burn that will warm your heart! Mia is an incredible heroine. I enjoyed her not only for her outlandish decision, but she is a real person, trying to do what she can to take care of things. Adam is just swoon worthy. The man can do no wrong in my eyes! Aubrey has me hooked and now I have to go and grab book 2!

Kirsten Leigh is absolutely amazing. She tells this story like we are right there with these characters, feeling the emotional tugs, the frustration and happiness. I loved her performance.

This book isn’t a romance it is essentially a horror. Adam is a stalker and it is so so disturbing how his stalking and control and manipulation over Mia is seen as ‘caring’ and ‘love’.
I will never get over how he led Mia to believe he was going to go through with the auction multiple times, even though he knew he couldn’t, and kept the money as a reason to keep her coming back. What a creep omg. He involved himself in his mums financial life and was speaking to Mia in game for a long-time and pretended he had no prior idea of her before the auction??? SICK. Also as soon as she said she wasn’t going to except the money they had sex (one of the most disturbing sex scenes i’ve ever read btw) like was the money really the only reason you weren’t gonna have sex with her?? What a loser and now Mia is out of nearly a million dollars rip

Call it what you want:

A battle of the wills?
A battle of the sexes?

But make no mistake, this is a battle. Mia is fighting for her future, her mom, and why let a pesky problem like virginity stop her. Selling it will change a lot for her. Keeping it, not so much. Even with her master plan alienating friends, Mia's drastic mission must be accomplished.

She wants a war. Adam Drake has every intention of being the asphalt she called him. Why not? He's paying, right?

Lines were drawn. NDAs were signed. But who will come out the victor?

Surely there's more than , meets the eye....(wink, wink)

It's was supposed to be 1 book

The idea of dragging stories to make more money its a new thing authors have been doing I wouldn't mind if it was an actual interesting story with background and other details but it felt like by half the book the author decided to cut it in half
