I really wish I had a more positive review for this book because I truly wanted to love it. I’m not sure if it was simply that I wasn’t in the right mood for this kind of story, but it just didn’t catch my interest the way I had hoped.

That being said, the overall concept is wonderful, and it’s undeniably beautifully written. I especially loved the different timelines woven throughout the story and how they tied together at the end.

Even though it didn’t fully click for me this time, I can absolutely see why others enjoy it so much. I may even give it another try in the future when I’m in the right headspace for it.

This book was really irritating. The characters make stupid decisions the entire time and with no redeeming qualities to counteract it. The bookshop.....what should have been the main point turns into a side story and the tie up is tenuous at best. Do not recommend.

Umm I’m just not sure how I feel about this. It was good, however I’m left confused yet thoughtful. The audio helped with the changing of voices.

I enjoy books where woman empower other women. In this storyline there are a lot of realities that women faced in the 1920’s right up to today. I enjoyed how the author brought them together based on a magical bookstore, and how they grew to become stronger because of their circumstances. It was a wonderful reminder that help comes in many different ways.
