I must admit, I wasn't the biggest Obamas fan as far as politics were concerned. But, I've always really adored Michelle. That being said, this book really opened my eyes to a lot of things the Obamas endured. I can honestly say, I'm walking away from this book with a newfound appreciation for the Obamas - even though I may not agree with them 100% politically. Also, the last chapter & epilogue of this book almost had me in tears.
That aside and now shifting gears to a more book review standpoint...I thought this was a little long and could have been shortened a tad...but at the same time, it's hard to review a biography because it's someone's life story. How can you shorten someone's life story? You really can't.
All that said, I'm walking away from this book with a new perspective and for that, I give it 4 stars.

Interesting reading the perspective of the person married to a politician who became president - but a bit of a boring book overall. Also didn’t love her actual story - felt like a frustrating documentation of the female burden.

I loved Michelle Obama before reading this book, now I really love her! How did we get so lucky to have such an amazing first lady, married to such an awesome president? I will be forever grateful for their service, grace and dedication. It gives me hope but also such sadness over the current contrast. Thanks for sharing your story with us ❤️.
