I was super excited to start Namesake after the way Fable ended! It picks right up and just like the last book, this one is just as quick paced. I did really enjoy how the plot kept moving, though there were bits where I felt it detracted from how the main relationship was protrayed. It seemed really fast for what level West and Fable’s relationship was at (and not physically but more like how well they knew each other? Like tells and things, I’m not quite sure how to put it). We got to meet a few new characters that helped round out the story! My only request would be to add in a little more backstory between the characters so I could connect with them a little better. But overall, I enjoyed reading Namesake!

I really enjoyed this. I did however read it over a really long time so I got to a point where I just wanted to finish it off. I think that's why I felt like it dragged a little towards the end but overall i enjoyed it.

This is the second book in the duology. Loved the descriptive writing. Loved the cover. It was a different feel than the first book. It's not as cold. There was some romance, but it wasn't steamy. The plot was good, but the pace was slow. The secondary characters were flat in this story, too. The ending was nicely wrapped up. I kept hoping for a twist, but there wasn't one. Overall, this is a good series to read if you're into pirates.
