It's surprising how fast things progress when you mostly remember the first animated version which really gave it room to breathe and get to know the girls a little more.

The art has definitely changed and improved since Sailor V. Luna looks like a cat most of the time! Still very light on details regarding what's going on panel to panel. Largely concentrated on looking pretty and posing but somehow still works.

My first approach to sailor moon ever!!! I'm named after Usagi (she's Serena in the latino dub) and it felt like something I had to do at some point. And I guess this was it!!! Over the past year I've reconnected with anime and manga and japanese culture in general (I'm even learning the language lmao) so this felt like the perfect timing.

The argentinian (IVREA) translation had some really bad fuck ups. Luna calls Usagi the F gay slur because she cries a lot. Like, really REALLY bad fuck ups. But that's the translator's fault, not the source material, so I'm kinda not counting it. If it's a recurring thing, I'll stop buying the series from them.

Tuxedo mask is literally the "but you didn't do anything" meme and it's sO FUNNY istfg teenagers are hilarious once you grow up a bit. Usagi literally falls in love with the dude and can't recognize his face with a mask off. Like. Comedy gold. Maybe it's intentional. I'd like to think it is.

Anyway I had no idea about the plot so this was good!!! overall!!!!! I guess!!!!!!
