I’ve listened to Liv Albert’s podcast, Let’s Talk About Myths, Baby since 2018 and have been waiting for a copy of this book since the day it was announced. And I finally found a copy at my local bookstore!
This book is a great overview of almost all the important myths and characters from Greek mythology. It goes through the main gods, the heroes, the monsters, the most famous stories, and some stories you may not know.
I love the author’s voice, and I would’ve loved to listen to an audiobook version of this as well. It reads very much like her podcast, with side notes and sarcastic comments.
I didn’t go into this book with the intent to learn a lot about Greek myths. I’m already very much familiar with the stories, especially since I’ve listened to the author’s podcast for so long, but it was still an interesting read.
The art in this book is gorgeous. Sara Richard did an amazing job! The characters are fantastical and colorful, and it really reflects the stories within the book.
CW: sexual assault (90% of the men in this book have at least one mention of assaulting someone), death, violence, sexism

An interesting and modern compendium of the most famous and important stories and characters of ancient Greek Mythology. Both informative and entertaining with the authors comments on some of the less savory details of the myths around the great Greek gods and heroes! Great, quick read.
