I got the book free for my kindle so I tought I'd give it a try. It was a pretty quick read. The whole premise was a little much to take in. Delaney (who's only 30 years p;d by the way) feels like she's headed into spinsterhood, but wants more than anything a family. She would love to have the perfect husband and have beautiful children, but feels it's impossible in the small town of Dundee, Idaho that she currently lives in. So instead of trying to find someone to date, maybe even adopting, she gets the idea that it would be fine to have a one night stand with an unsuspecting man in order to get pregnant. He doesn't ever have to know about the baby, and all of Delaney's dreams will come true.

Of course with schemes such as these things never go as planned and said one-night-stand ends up moving to Dundee, Idaho unbeknownst to our now pregnant Delaney. To say that Delaney was supposed to be a person that everyone liked in the town, someone who was always there helping other people, she's the librarian for goodness sake, to be so selfish was really irritating. I'm not even speaking about the one night stand. I'm talking about the child that results from her unwavering need to have a family before she's over-the-hill (at 30!!). Yet not once does this future cross her mind until the act is done. Her impulsivity with with something as serious as birthing and caring for a child was irritating. I don't know if the book just has to move along quickly so there was no time to flesh this aspect out until later, but it should have been something seriously thought about.

Then the whole back and forth between Connor and Delaney, was just exhausting. I understand that he felt betrayed by what she didbut making his fanatical claims of how he will take his child and be a father to the child one moment, but wouldn't even sit down and have a conversation with Delaney about the future was irrational. They both just skirted around the topic thinking they knew what was going on in the other person's head, then being completely surprised when they were wrong.

Overall, it's one of those books that you really can't take too seriously or you;ll just end up ripping your hair out. I probably wouldn't have ever thought to read this book if it wasn't offered for free. I don't know if I will pick up the others in the series.

This was an okay read. It was quick and easy. However, I felt that the resolution came a little quickly, and I struggled a bit with the back story on the hero's mother and how he came to be. Because of the relationship with his uncles, that was clearly an important part of the story, but I felt like it wasn't really addressed except in a superficial way.

A good read. It was hard to get invested in the characters. They didn't seem to interact with each other very much. It was a nice, sweet read, otherwise.
