For non-fiction, this book was really good. A bit repetitive, again, if I read it when I put it on my TBR, it would have probably blown my mind, but now I know a lot of these things. It was however really good to hear them, it was probably its moment to be heard in all honesty, and I think that is what is great about books. I especially loved the ‘being picked as the other’ at the end, that really stayed with me.

Interesting perspective in how blaming and shaming shows in all aspects of our lives. Brene’s examples brings to light how even small moments of interactions with others can bring about a sense of shame and how we can make a conscious a choice on how we engage in similar situations thereafter.

Amazing book. It took me a while to read it because it is full of great content, of research and tips. I wanted to savor it all. It is great and so relatable. I loved how Brene really used personal stories to share such a hard topic like vulnerability. I highly recommend it!

"Daring Greatly" by Brene Brown is a transformative read that inspired me to embrace vulnerability in a whole new way. Brown's insightful exploration of vulnerability as a source of strength, connection, and personal growth resonated deeply with me. Her words encouraged me to shed my inhibitions and fear of judgment, ultimately pushing me to embark on a burlesque journey.

This book isn't just about being vulnerable; it's about the courage to step into the spotlight, reveal our true selves, and celebrate our uniqueness. Brown's research and personal anecdotes provide a roadmap for breaking free from the shackles of perfectionism and shame. As I delved into the world of burlesque, I found a beautiful synergy with the book's message – embracing vulnerability on stage, expressing my authentic self, and inspiring others to do the same.

"Daring Greatly" is a powerful reminder that vulnerability is not a weakness but a path to wholehearted living. It's a book that ignited a spark of self-discovery and creativity in me, ultimately leading me to a bold and empowering burlesque journey. I'm immensely grateful for the inspiration this book has brought into my life.

This is a solid 4.5 for me. The section on men and shame was especially eye opening for me. I learned a lot. This is research based which is nice as opposed to an opinion based self help book. My only criticism is it gets redundant at times and the chapters are long. Well worth the read!

I really like Brene Brown and I almost made it through this book. But I was listening to it as an audiobook and the narrator - Karen White - is truly unbearable. So, while I appreciated the content (which was mostly just a more elaborate version of Brown's TED talk on vulnerability), I could only listen for a few minutes at a time before the smarmy, lilting narration made the bile rise in my throat and I finally had to give it up. Maybe I'll give the hard copy a try in a few years, when I've sufficiently recovered from the audio experience.
