I am a huge fan of Brene Brown: her books, Ted Talks, podcasts, and speeches. This book was great in talking about the importance of vulnerability and was a great launching pad for me to evaluate the amount of vulnerability that I allow in my life. However, many of the stories she tells through the book did not relate to me (specifically in the workplace). It was still great information but lost me in a few chapters. I also made the mistake of watching "The Call to Courage" while reading this book, which revealed that she was discussing many of the same things in each individual setting. Therefore, I lost some interest with the book at points, feeling as if I had heard it before (because I had).
This book is a must read, a life changer. Brene Brown gave words to some of my struggles and I'm thrilled to have found this book. Enjoy!

The message was clear. But unfortunately, vulnerability will be an uphill battle until more of the people who need this book read it.
You may like this more than I if you’re a parent.

I think Brené is brilliant. But I struggled to get through this book. Maybe it’s because her research and findings were groundbreaking at the time this was written, but today sound like common sense. That’s obviously thanks in no small part to her. Three stars because I get her message, lots of credit to her, but I skipped and skimmed a lot.
