Maybe I'll return to the paper version of this...but audiobook did the stories no favors.

Nice book to listen to while working. Loved learning about traditions that continue to live on, no matter how few people carry them

I fee like this one was a solid three star read. The first three examples of dying traditions really gripped me. They felt urgent and that their disappearance would devastate a way of life or erase a piece of culture. Some of the others... did not feel like they had the same sense of urgency.
Anyway, other than the audio having awkward pauses where you can tell midsentence where they stitched audio clips together, it was a decent listen.

This book covers ten unique, little known stories, all focusing on knowledges, talent, and/or skills that are at risk of becoming extinct when the people who have this knowledge die. Super well researched, lots of facts, and it was a great road trip listen.
