Thoroughly enjoyed this book! It’s full of lovely, sometimes sad or bittersweet stories, of people around the world who are upholding traditions and customs that are slowly dying out. Each person’s story is treated with care and includes the history behind how the tradition came to be practiced, which I thought was really impactful. This really was so sweet, each story was very moving and drew me in right away.

A very diverse and eclectic collection of essays that highlight some of the dying arts and crafts of humanity. Some stories were a bit less interesting than others for me, and I'm sure each reader will find something they find fascinating. For me, the stories of the four-year-aged soy sauce and readers in Cuban cigar factories really stood out. The author had a tendency to pad each chapter with a good deal of history, which sometimes helped and sometimes hindered the flow of each chapter.

Interesting topics/ subject matter, but the writing was less engaging than I'd hoped
