A precise and deliberate stringing of distances, the act of locating. A deeply serious book.

Sharp, bitter, frigid landscape of poetry.

Very airy writing style, detailed imagery and I really appreciated the poems being written both in Inuit and English.

The individual poems were well crafted, but it didn't feel like a super cohesive collection as a whole.

Picked this up in Halifax, didn't entirely relate to the poems (often didn't know what was going on).
I liked "The Straits" which ends
"in the city//one finds it simple to conceive nothing/but a system, and nothing but a world of men" (p.44)

I was a little disappointed in this collection. The writing was gorgeous, but I could not pick up the thread of a theme or story or anything. I could not tell you what this book of poetry was actually about.
