What a fun story with an endearing main character. I think we all remember being misunderstood in one way or another as a child and poor Clementine just gets into trouble of one kind then another!

I accidentally read the seventh book first, which made me laugh a lot. Clementine's first adventure wasn't quite as funny but there is a lot to like about an 8 year old whose future life goals include smoking cigars and not getting married.

Clementine is entirely delightful. I love a smart, curious, trouble-making girl with a sweet heart and love in her family. Clementine is full of ideas and shenanigans. The illustrations are sweet. I picked this book up to browse at the library and laughed enough in the first chapters to bring it home to finish. It is tricky to write a funny kid book where the kid does not turn into a little jerkface, but Clementine has plenty of heart and honesty, even if she did cut off all her best friend's hair.

Great read, quite fun. A short, modern Ramona.

Clementine is an adorable red head who swears she really is paying attention... To the kids playing outside or the bug on her desk instead of the teacher. She is often in trouble but in her mind all that she has done is completely justifiable. Some of the time. I liked this book, although like all children, she could be irritating at times.
