Clementine is a mischievous third grader who always gets yelled at for not paying attention. She causes a lot of trouble, but her heart is always in the right place. Would be good for readers who liked Junie B. Jones. Funny with charming illustrations.

Gift from Lucy for Aoife's birthday. We read the first few chapters and then Aoife wanted to go back to Betsy & Tacy - so we are moving on to Betsy-Tacy and Tib. This book is wonderful, though, so I think we will return soon. I may have Connor & Xander read it because I think that 8 year olds might find it funnier than a four year old.

Complete reversal of opinion - on the part of the 4 year old. She Loves Clementine - can't get enough!

Love this series! For my kids who adore Junie B it is great to focus them in on a different series. Reminds me quite a lot of Beverly Cleary and her amazing characters. Loved this one!

The best compliment I can give this is that I think Clementine and Ramona would have been best friends, and I wish I could read about them having adventures together!

This was a read-aloud with Cara. Parts of it made her giggle out loud, but some things that Clementine did made me worry about her judgement and have a quick conversation with my kid to make sure I wouldn't have a copycat in my house (cutting hair off, talking with a sassy attitude, etc.). It wasn't really ABOUT anything, and for a chapter book of this length, I expected more from the plot.

Read this with my girls at bedtime. It was super cute! It definitely captures the POV of a child. It's funny, well written, and a fast pace that keeps the kids attention. We laughed at all the crazy mishaps poor Clementine had in her no good, horrible, very bad week. Clementine is just trying to do the right things to help out and they just are not ending up how she hoped they would. Plus, she thinks she pays attention to all the right things, but she has a wondering mind and eye of an 8 year old. Great book!
