I liked it. I didn’t realize it was part of a series until i came to goodreads to rate it but it stands alone really well. It’s a nice story about two people falling in love. I like that nothing really “bad” or unrealistic happens.

These books are not great literature. But they are definitely fun romantic stories! It's so great to read a book about 2 black people in their 50s falling in love!

middle aged 2nd chance romance? sign me up! Malcolm and vivian are truly impeccable and such loveable characters. It really goes to show no matter how old or young someone is, at the end of the day we all crave love in some way or shape or form. Their relationship was super cute and this was a quick read. Malcolm had his wtf moments but he def made up for it in the end.

Such a fun Christmas read. I wasn't a fan of the writing style but the story was good. The characters were ok. I wouldn't read it again but I would recommend it.

Another average romance novel. Wasn’t the hugest fan of the male Love interest in the way he handled her in things throughout the book. But it was okay. I love that both characters were black and that she was a single mother. I think those types of characters should be normalized in books. But there is nothing exceptionally great about it. It was entertaining but I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s award-winning quality.

This book ruined reading for me. I could force myself to continue. I truly hated every second. The writing was dreadful, the plot was incredibly dill and I had no interest in what happened next.
The only good bit was the Nigerian restaurant.
