Ehhhh I struggled with this book. It’s like if someone who didn’t live in Seattle, went through a Yelp review of the top locations to visit and then tried to include them in their book. Which is weird considering this author was raised here....?

The story was alright, but pretty predictable. The characters were likable, but nothing worth mentioning. Of all of the Kristen Hannah books I’ve read, this was my least favorite (by a lot).

Wow. I loved this book right from the start! This story pulled me in, and I couldn't get enough of it! I am so glad I picked this book up after seeing it ALL OVER Instagram. This is one of my new favorites! I loved that the friendship between Katie and Tully was not perfect, and how we got to see life through both of their eyes. The last 50 pages had me bawling, and I didn't think it could possibly get any sadder and of course it did.  Kristin Hannah is an amazing writer, and I cannot wait to read more from her.

This was my first Kristin Hannah book and I can absolutely see why she is so well loved! I went into this pretty much blind because I knew the Netflix adaptation was coming soon and I really think that’s the best way to read it. The synopsis on Goodreads is ridiculously long and I think it gives away a little too much so here’s a quick sentence about it: this book follows 2 best friends over the course of their 30 year friendship and all of the ups and downs, heartaches and triumphs that come with it.

While both of our main characters drove me slightly crazy in some places, it also felt like a very honest and real portrait of what friendship looks like, especially one that has lasted so long. There were a few places I thought were a little long but overall I really enjoyed this one. I’ll definitely be watching the Netflix adaptation and picking up the sequel!
