Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah

this book took me a while to get through and I think its just because it felt too real for me. Winter Garden by KH also had the same problem, it was too real-life sad and I couldn't finish it. This one didn't get extremely sad until the very end. I think it was expertly written and I cared so deeply about the characters, but too much so that it filled me with such dread. The whole Johnny thing, though what a beautiful ending was rough to read about same with the mother daughter fighting. it made me very grateful for my mom. The ending was so tragic it had me in my bikini crying in the sun but it did seem like the right thing to do. A great book, full of love and pain.

What a fucking roller coaster ride. I laughed and I wept and did everything in between. Tully & Kate are lovable and detestable at the same time, which is to say they are human. The story arc is so pleasant. The subtle nods to different music was a nice bonus for me as a music lover. The end is devastating, though, so prepare with loads of tissues.

I loved following Katie and Tully’s friendship throughout the years. Lots of important lessons throughout the entire book. Started off great and lost a little momentum in the middle before picking up near the end. I am curious to see where the second book goes.

Wow. I loved this book right from the start! This story pulled me in, and I couldn't get enough of it! I am so glad I picked this book up after seeing it ALL OVER Instagram. This is one of my new favorites! I loved that the friendship between Katie and Tully was not perfect, and how we got to see life through both of their eyes. The last 50 pages had me bawling, and I didn't think it could possibly get any sadder and of course it did.  Kristin Hannah is an amazing writer, and I cannot wait to read more from her.
