Stayed up to 4 am to finish this book. Couldn’t put it down. A few annoying things, and really disliked Tully so many times, but such a beautiful book. Going to sleep now with a stuffy nose from all the crying.

This book is, ultimately, about the bond of friendship that spans decades. These two best friends have their issues, but they always come back together, for better or for worse. I was attracted to this book by the idea of the "betrayal" that tests their friendship. That betrayal doesn't happen until almost page 400, and yet I was enthralled the entire time. And yes, I cried at the end. Extremely emotional and heartfelt, and an ode to BFFs around the world.

I really enjoyed the writing and appreciated that I was able to read about two characters without alternating chapters and without feeling choppy. I didn't think halfway through I was going to love it, but it was such a good book and heartbreaking at the same time. This is a book and characters that I will continue to think about. I will say I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a light and happy read.

I loved following Katie and Tully’s friendship throughout the years. Lots of important lessons throughout the entire book. Started off great and lost a little momentum in the middle before picking up near the end. I am curious to see where the second book goes.

I was recommended this book by my aunt, whose basically a sister to me, and I am so glad I took her recommendation because this book was phenomenal. I loved the trauma bonding that was done and how vulnerable Katie was during the whole novel. She just wanted a friend and would do anything to keep the only one she had.

Teenage years are weird and difficult, I can’t imagine what it was like for Tilly. She had so many traumatic events happen to her before she turned 18. I loved her drive and how she just wanted to make a name for herself and be loved by everyone, since her mother couldn’t (which is so sad, but so relatable for so MANY people). The one thing I hated about Tilly was that she was so arrogant and blinded by her own drive.

The climax of this book felt like it was always going to come sooner , rather than so late in the novel. Every time that they drifted apart, because of life and how life changed for them both so differently, I felt like that was going to be the breaking point that broke their friendship up. But the actual event was JAW DROPPING. I’ll be the first to admit, I hated Tilly after the event, but god the way that she made up with Katie after ykw was so sweet and made me bawl.

I recommend this to any and everyone. I have friends who don’t read whatsoever and they love this book. This is definitely a wonderful read.

While I did enjoy my reading experience of this particular Kristin Hannah installment, I struggled a bit with reading Tullys perspective at times, since I found her character a bit frustrating. I think for the most part that is due to the fact that I feel like I identify more closely with Kate as a character, and was often really frustrated with Tullys behavior and her lack of awareness of others feelings. However, that’s not to say that I didn’t feel for her. As you spend time with these characters, grow up with them  and experience life with them, you see how truly horrible things were/are for Tully. It’s no wonder she could be selfish or struggle with being there for others when they needed her, since she never got that for herself as a young girl. Overall, I kept coming back to the book and found it hard to put down because I was attached to these characters and wanted to know more. Thank you once again Kristin Hannah, for a soul crushing read. Why is it that I am always left sobbing after finishing your novels??? I would like some compensation at this point lol.
I would recommend this to those who enjoy slice of life, dramatic stories, where you can truly immerse yourself in the lives of the characters. Another job well done, mrs. Hannah.

Gillade verkligen denna bok.
