Some aspects of this felt adult to me while others did not. I had to keep reminding myself this was a YA novel!

"But still they ran, giddy and breathless, the pieces of June's life dropping away bit by bit, until she was nothing but legs in motion, arms, a heart, a hand, held. A body, stumbling, tripping, almost falling. Except she wouldn't fall, that's the thing. Delia wouldn't let her."

"Delia stayed away from the fire. She always did. Fire was the only thing on earth she was scared of."

"He doesn't have access to a certain part of the world that maybe I do, a certain kind of darkness that I have been trying so hard to shed."

Suicide Notes from Beautiful Girls was not knock-your-socks-off material. In my opinion, it was far from a "thriller." But the psychological twists were compelling enough for me to read it quite quickly. While I didn't enjoy the interpretative ending, I never could guess what was going to happen next. I think when the novel switches from just June's point of view, to alternating between Delia and June is where the significant shift takes place. You see who Delia was, who June is capable of being when guided by Delia. Delia is fire, and her plans to kindle flames in June are effortlessly creepy as the story progresses. On the outside, Weingarten presents us with a sapphic murder mystery...but beneath the veil is dark obsessions and elusive secrets. In Suicide Notes from Beautiful Girls, Weingarten skillfully crafts a story full of deceit and a fiery passion. There were downfalls, room for improvement....But in my opinion, this book was more than worth the read.

Not often do books in this genre surprise me every step of the way, but this one did. There was no long, slow burn to one predictable twist at the end, but constant twists and turns.

Saw another review that said this is Gone Girl meets 13 Reasons Why and I absolutely can see that, and love it.

I was so excited to read this story and sadly this book was a disappointment.

I enjoy a good mystery story and this was not it. I picked up right away that Delia was not dead (that being said I did read her other book, Where Nina Lies). I did not care for the lack of story. There were a lot of plots thrown at the reader as distraction until the reveal that she was alive, yet none of them come to a close. Did she sleep with Junes boyfriend? Was it his baby that she aborted? Was the abortion even real? Did the other member of the group kill their tormentors as well? Is Sebastian really Trevor? Where did the house and the money come from? Why is June so stupid and following Delia no matter what?

My biggest question is why did June even go along with the revenge plot? June being a semi-sane person, albeit lonely however she would not have just gone along with the whole plot. This is just like the rest of the book, it felt a bunch of different stories of different books were put together to make this one. The drug dealer, the suicide, the cheating boyfriend, the crazy ex, the revenge group and the murders, it seems like these were puzzle pieces that did not fit together.
