writing wasn't great, lots of filler plot information that had no place it felt like. I got 80% through the book till I just gave up.

Not as good as Eight Perfect Murders, but a well done suspense. A bit anxiety inducing, triggering.

Easy to read, good story slightly predictable but enjoyable nonetheless.

Peter Swanson's last novel The Kind Worth Killing literally blew me away. I had been looking forward to his new novel Her Every Fear that seemed to take forever to come out because I could seriously barely wait!! Now it's been out for quite a while, and I'm juuuust now getting to it. But it was well worth the wait!

Her Every Fear, like The Kind Worth Killing, is written from a few different perspectives and pretty much a total retelling of each big occurrence from the POV of each character. It did get a little monotonous, but I think it does work very well in how Peter tells his stories.

One main character, Kate, who has had a past trauma that has her ridden with anxiety/panic attacks, gets an opportunity to switch apartments with her cousin Corbin. She lives in England, and he lives in America. She has actually never met this cousin before but knows OF him because she's seen pictures and has heard of him. She decides this is a good idea because she can take some art classes in America, explore, and have some time to herself. Well literally the DAY she gets there, someone is knocking on her neighbor's door trying to get to her friend who she says she hasn't been able to get into contact with. The next day, we find out her next door neighbor Audrey has been murdered.

Many characters are introduced: a best friend of Audrey's, a neighbor across from her apartment who can see into Audrey's and likes to watch her, a friend of Corbin's from college that has made a reappearance back in Corbin's life, etc. All of these characters are so pertinent to this story which was crafted so well.

My only real complaints about this book is that it wasn't TOTALLY believable. I kind of feel like the conclusions that the FBI/police force were able to come to about what had happened to Audrey just do not seem plausible. The book almost seemed too perfectly crafted. Still an amaaaaazing read and TOTALLY looking forward to see what Swanson has coming next!

Kate Priddy was almost killed by an ex-boyfriend. Now she has bouts of anxiety that could lead up to panic attacks. When a distant cousin from Boston, Corbin Dell, suggests they swap apartments for six months Kate agrees in the hopes that time away will do more good than harm for her. But after arriving to her new apartment on Beacon Hill, Kate learns that the young woman next door has been murdered. When the police question Kate about Corbin, she has few answers since she doesn't personally know him but has many questions of her own. After meeting another tenant in the building named Alan and a tearful friend of the victim outside the building named Jack, her curiosity is piqued. Did Corbin do it? She emails Corbin, who insists he did not murder his neighbour; he barely knew her. But after coming across objects that link him to the victim, she wonders if Corbin is in fact a liar and murderer.

A compulsive, easy-to-read, well-written, suspenseful book. Not a whole lot happens, it's more character-driven with characters that are real and believable. The only disappointment for me was the ending.

Very solid good thriller
