4.5 Stars.
Super fun mystery novel that kept me excited to find out what happens next the whole time. Finlay Donovan has the wit and charm to entertain even those who don't normally read mystery novels, I think. Finlay makes a great 'not your usual' detective being a mystery novelist and her nanny Vero and honestly the whole cast were great! (Is Georgia named after George Fayne...? My Nancy Drew sense were tingling...).

Personally, I thought the first chapter was really rough and almost made me not want to read the book at all. I'm glad I'm a "first 50 pages" kind of reader though, its great from chapter 2 onward.

If you want something lighter but with darker elements, I'd recommend it!

I immediately downloaded the sequel. I maybe biased as a 30 something mother of 2, but DANG I’m so so in love with Finlay Donovan. This book is the perfect funny, palette cleansing good time in between heavy fantasy novels.

I really enjoyed this. Finlay Donovan is a great character and I was rooting for her the whole way through. It was thrilling enough to be a real page turner but not quite stressful enough that it made me anxious which is the kind of pace I prefer. It's very over the top but in a really fun way and I'm definitely picking up the next one.

Definitely loved Finlay Donovan is Killing It! I greatly enjoyed the twists and turns that this story went through and the massive cliffhanger it left us on. I will most definitely be getting my hands on book 2 very soon! The only reason this wasn’t 5 stars for me was because I wish there was more detail into the murderer as I thought it was kind of glossed over. The last 50 pages also seemed a bit rushed, but not badly. Loved the relationships in this book, especially the funny dynamics between Finlay and Vero (she’s hilarious). Can’t wait for the series to continue!

Massively entertaining and really easy to read. It felt like it took a while for the plot to get going, circling around a lot in the first half. I thoroughly enjoyed the story as a whole though.
