Very fun concept and story. Flowed very well did not get bored once. Might even have to rate it higher. Was giggling over Finlay and Julian. AND THE CLIFFHANGER WOOP

I think that I am also going to review this series together just because I read them all at the same time and they honestly ran together. I didn’t really like them. They were extremely forgettable. I think the first one was somewhat novel, but the other two seemed repetitive and didn't keep up with the parts of the first book I liked. I liked the setup of a mother in dire straits having to become a hired killer of bad men, especially when being pressured by her ass of a husband and the woman that he cheated on her with. That is definitely not what happens. Initially I was charmed by the relationship that Vero and her have, but I quickly got annoyed. The constant interrupting to contradict what the other is saying (especially when Vero interrupts Finlay to force her to agree to something she was about to decline) happens so often and it gets old fast. This is not how people talk. Also, when does Finlay write? Also she should not trust Vero (or at least have a serious inner conflict over it, I get that she kinda HAS to) she has constantly lied to Finlay and lost all of her money with problem gambling. The kids are annoying pieces of cardboard and the husband does not ask enough questions. Let people other than the literal mob be kinda bad. Maybe that's not this kind of book, having actually morally gray characters, but it's boring as hell. Very forgettable, I will only pick up the next one if I happen to remember it.

I wanted the light easy read, but not a romance in the classical sense. I think this did the trick. I can only read or listen to books like this when my anxiety level is extremely low, or else the fear of the character getting caught or in trouble turns into for boating feeling in my body and I can’t enjoy it. I did enjoy the book. It reminded me a little bit of

I might come back to this one, but it wasn’t as engaging to start as I expected.

This was a funny, quirky, almost slap stick luck of the draw cozy murder mystery with a dash of romance. Finlay is insanely unlucky yet incredibly lucky at the same time. I really enjoyed listening to this story and will definitely continue the series!

I really enjoyed this read. In the end the story wrapped up nicely, even if there are still some secrets that need to be disclosed. Excited to read the next book.
