I think this was my favourite book of 2022 so far. Damn! I went into this without many expectations but it's rare that a book actually keeps me up until 4 am to keep reading (before making a break to sleep and then continue reading). This book gave me all the fluffy, happy feelings and instantly fell in love with Dev and Charlie right from the start.

CW for panic attacks & mental health issues (social anxiety, ocd, depression)

The mental health aspect is a big part of this book since we see Charlie struggling with anxiety, ocd and panic attacks and Dev with depression. I can't say much for how good the rep (some ace spectrum (grey/demi but chose not to use labels) rep ❤️) in these aspects are, but it is definitly very prominent. It's also nice to see that there are many queer people are in this. It also sheds a light on how the production of reality tv shows.

The only thing one could critisize is that while Dev is Indian-American this doesn't play a role in this book at all. So, if you're looking for rep in that aspect, you probably won't find it in this book.

Also people have been comparing this to Red, White and Royal Blue for some reason. Yes, I caught myself thinking this too even tho these two are NOTHING alike except both hyped queer books. For me, this was lightyears better.

This book definitly gave me all the happy, excited fan feels. All in all I really loved this!

edit: re-read June 2022: Still a comfort read! And I love it very much!
