Hello,
The characters were cute, the romance is also cute , and Many good points for the representation.
But the book is too long and sometimes repetitive.

I had a lot of fun reading this book - there were times where I laughed out loud.

But the writing kinda pulls the story down. It feels like the themes aren’t being explored so much as being told straight to our faces and that got old pretty fast.

It reads like a really cliché romance movie, but queer lol

Although the reality show setting isn’t my cup of tea, I must say I really liked The Charm Offensive. Both characters are interesting enough to follow and their relationship is well crafted for us to believe in their journey to love and self-discovery. Charlie, of course, is my favourite character, and I identified with him in many ways. I thought Dev’s Indian heritage could be better approached (most Desi people I know are deeply in tune with their culture and family), but I liked his characterisation nonetheless.

The mental health and queer culture approach are definitely the best things about this novel. There’s a variety of individuals in most of the queer spectrum and hard topics are dealt with normalcy and ease. Despite me thinking that the mental health part could be less stereotyped, it was a breath of fresh air to see people who I identify with manage to overcome part of their issues and walk towards a happy ending. Overall, it was a heartwarming rom-com with an additional spice of queer culture and mental health. Very nice read.
