So I didn't enjoy the sequel as much as the first, but I still liked it. This one seemed way more action based and at times I felt like the story was dragging. Overall, I'm glad I read it. The big 'AHA' moment wasn't as 'AHA' as in #murdertrending, but it was still pretty cool. Now I just need to decide if I'm going to read the third and final story of the series

** This is the second book in the #MurderTrending series. You do need to read the first book to understand what is going on in this book.**

"Welcome to Who Wants to Be a Painiac?, a reality TV show searching for the next big serial killer sensation. Seventeen-year-old Becca Martinello discovers her deceased soccer mom was a notorious serial killer named Molly Mauler. As Becca delves into her mom's past on the show, real murders begin to occur around her. Will she uncover dark secrets and survive the deadly game, or become its next victim?"

Overall score: 4.6/5

Ratings:
1. **Plot and Storytelling:** 4/5 I thoroughly enjoyed the plot of #MurderFunding, although it didn't quite match the brilliance of the first book in the #MurderTrending series. Nonetheless, it delivered everything I anticipated with its well-crafted story, complete with surprising twists that kept me engaged throughout.

2. **Characterization:** 4/5 The characters in this book resonated with me, and their emotions felt genuine. While they may not have been as captivating as the previous cast, witnessing their growth and transformation, especially the underdog protagonist and her cohorts, was still satisfying and easy to cheer for.

3. **Writing Style:** 5/5 Gretchen McNeil's fast-paced writing style is something I adore, and the incorporation of social media commentary adds a refreshing and highly entertaining layer to the narrative.

4. **Originality:** 5/5 #MurderFunding stands out for its originality. The concept of a reality show gone awry right from the start is both mind-boggling and eerily plausible, making for a gripping and wholly unique reading experience.

5. **Emotional Impact and Resolution:** 5/5 This book had me completely engrossed from start to finish. It evoked a range of emotions, from fear to sadness for the victims, and even moments of laughter. The resolution was satisfying, tying up loose ends while leaving enough room for anticipation of the next installment.

If you enjoyed #MurderFunding of course recommend you read #MurderTrending the previous book in the series. If you would like a new series, I recommend “One of Us Is Lying” by Karen M. McManus. It’s a thriller set in a high school where five students walk into detention, but only four walk out alive. Another choice would be “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins. If you liked the dystopian elements and the concept of a reality show gone wrong in #MurderFunding, you’ll likely enjoy diving into the action-packed world of Katniss Everdeen as she fights for survival in the deadly Hunger Games arena.

rarely is the sequel better but just WOW! Author did such a good job tying in book one and adding so much more! Such a fun read and I'm stoked for book 3
