An array of creatures bound by a common purpose. Such depth to all the characters and the relationships. This final book of the All Soul's Trilogy captures the imagination, speeding to a climatic end which comes full circle..."It began with a discovery of witches..."

I just loved the first book, and this and the second book let me down a bit. This one in particular got super convuluted and confusing. I also felt the end battle was quite underwhelming. It took me much longer to read than usual because I just couldn’t get super into it. I definitely will be stopping after this one as I feel like I’m totally done with these characters and the story.

a nice, fluffy, palette cleanser before i savor the latest murakami.

i'm not the type who gets overwrought when a novelist takes a long time to write the next book in a series; out of sight, out of mind. however, i could barely remember what happened in the 2nd book, and almost went looking for a synopsis online, but figured i'd just jump in and see how well the author gave up the back story.

overall, i very much agree with this review, emphasis on the first 3 points. too many characters (absolutely insane, though i suppose not surprising for characters whose lives span centures), point of view switching (mid chapter in some cases!), and the lack of secrecy
Spoiler(they seemed to tell everything to absolutely everyone - pretty annoying; i was irritated that the "mole" was gerbert, when it kept seeming as though it was someone within their ranks)

As I did for the first book in the series, I'm reading it with a friends, which makes it more enjoyable for me !

I really liked the historical turn the story took with the coming back in time and having to get used to the language, customs, clothes, etc. We met another set of memorable characters (
I must mention Philippe, that was a great moment !
) and it was overall an enjoyable experience !
The story is still solid and interesting.
