"Do not refuse me because I am dark and shadowed. As I am the end, so my lover is the beginning. I encompass the whole work of creation, and all knowledge is hidden in me..."

Oh, how truly amazingly wonderfully brilliant this book series was. I have heard some mixed reviews about the last book, but save for a couple of minor complaints, I felt like this book series was as close to perfect as it gets...Full review to follow.

A thrilling and satisfying conclusion to Diana and Matthew’s story, The Book of Life wraps everything up with a bow. There was plenty of conflict throughout this book, picking up right where the last book left off.

As always with these characters, the relationships are complex and the politics are intriguing. There were as many fights had with words as with magic and violence, and every conversation was fraught with tension (both good and bad).

I love myself a happy ending, and seeing Matthew and Diana get theirs, despite all of the obstacles in the way, was exactly what I wanted to see in the conclusion. This book was faster paced than it’s predecessors, a necessity with all of the plot points that needed to be addressed, but there was little that felt rushed or overlooked approaching the conclusion.

Really good. More a long continuous novel than a trilogy, these books should really have been bound together. Well thought-out point of view that takes all 3 books to fully reveal itself; plenty of adventure. A fun read.
